Frequently Asked Questions
May I special order products?
Yes! As long as we deal with the particular brand of product you are searching for, chances are very high that we may already stock it in our retail store or can order it soon. We may have a different brand that will be an acceptable substitute as well. Our retail store has over five thousand items in the natural food theme so just E-mail your request to us. Over twenty three years, there have been very few natural food items we have been unable to source for our customers.
Are all your sales and specials listed on the main homepage?
Not exactly. There is limited space on the main homepage - not nearly enough room for all the deals that are offered at any given time!
Products are listed alphabetically. To browse through them all: scroll to the bottom of the homepage where, to the right of the screen, you can click on the "Next Ten Items".
Alternatively, there is a clickable alphabet where you can look featured products up based on their first letter. (Hint: Most vitamins - Vitamin B, Vitamin D, etc. - are under "V" for Vitamin)
How do I go about ordering Christmas Gift Trays for you to mail to people on my Christmas list?
First of all, place the order for the tray(s) online. There will be a Special Instructions box so you can type in what you want us to say on the gift card. eg. Happy Holidays Sue and John! Love Jessie, Brian and Vincent Then you will have to include the complete mailing address. This method works best when you are only ordering one tray.
When you have a number of different tray designs all going to different people, then it is best to type into the Special Instructions box that you will be sending a separate email to one of our Contacts on the "Contact Us" link, and include the entire list of recipients and addresses along with which tray they are to receive, and we will take care of you. What could be easier?
What about shipping charges?
As of January 1st, 2008, the minimum shipping charge will be $10 per package. The best rates possible will be selected based on package size, weight and distance to be shipped. All FIRST TIME orders over $50 (in Canadian dollars and before taxes) shipped within Canada will be shipped with us paying the first $5 in shipping charges for you and you will be charged a minimum of $5 plus any excess fees when the total shipping is over $10. The same applies to all first time USA orders over $100 US value. When it is necessary to insure packages over $100 value, insurance against loss in shipping will be added on at the rate of $1 for each $100 Canadian value.

How to I get to be a member at two farm kids to receive everyday lower pricing on Supplements?
On your very first order that includes supplements, you will be charged a one time set-up fee of $10 to include you on our customer database as a Supplement Preferred Customer. This is a Lifetime Membership fee and will qualify you for the Everyday Low Pricing and for any other special promotions as well, such as "Buy One - Get One at Half Price." When you look at the individual Supplements, you will notice a Suggested Retail Price listed at the end of the Supplement description and you can then calculate what your saving will be on each supplement.
What if I am already a member of two farm kids Club earning discounts on Supplement purchases?
If you are already a current member of two farm kids Club for purchasing supplements at lower prices, you don't have to do a thing! All customers who were club members prior to December 31, 2001 have been given a Lifetime membership as Supplement Preferred Customers. When you place an order online, your name will be checked in our retail store customer database, your customer number will be rung in and your supplement purchases will come up at the everyday low price. This reflects changes effective January 1, 2002 to our original membership where you had to accumulate 20 stamps on your Vitamin Card to earn a $10 credit. Now the Supplement purchases you make either in-store or on-line receive an immediate discounted price so there is no more "stamping of cards" necessary. We are passing on the volume discounts alloted to two farm kids by our suppliers. Canadian manufactured supplements from Natural Factors, Quest and Prairie Naturals are between 15 and 20% less than regular retail pricing. The leading North American herbal manufacturer, Nature's Way, is up to 15% less than regular retail prices and other supplements are up to 10% less as well.
What if I want to purchase an entire case of something?
Product that is pre-packaged and purchased in an entire case will be given an extra 10% discount. Bulk products purchased as an entire bulk bag or case will be given a 20% discount. The case sizes will eventually be added in a bracket at the end of each product description so that you can indicate that number in your order whenever you wish to purchase a whole case. Until that feature is added in, please use our Email to inquire about case sizes on specific items.
When I order bulk product priced by the kilogram, do I have to purchase exactly one kilogram?
If you wish to purchase one kilogram, indicate "1" on your order. However, if you want only half a kilogram, then fill in ".5". For larger amounts, simply indicate accordingly, "2.5," "5," etc.
How can I tell by looking at a supplement if it is a quality product?
Good question! Often it can be very difficult for the consumer to determine the quality. Several years ago, an independent lab tested fifty different brands of Panax Ginseng pulled from store shelves. Out of the fifty, only eight had any significant amount of the active properties of ginseng (ginsenosides), about thirty were ginseng but were of such low quality that they contained very little ginsenosides, and the remaining dozen were not even ginseng! The top three ginsengs were Canadian manufactured. The top eight were all products from well established manufacturers who follow good manufacturing practices and who have extensive labs for testing. As retailers, two farm kids Natural Foods has a policy of purchasing supplements only from top quality manufacturers, the majority of which are Canadian, such as Natural Factors, Quest, Prairie Naturals and Flora. The trusted American herbal leader, Nature's Way, makes the grade with its long history of quality products. Who doesn't make the grade? Products touting fantastic claims as magical cure-alls without the registered DIN number necessary to verify a claim, products without full ingredient disclosure on the labels (there are people out there who would try to get you to take a "natural" product without telling you exactly what's in it!), products that cannot be backed up with a lab analysis, products labelled "extracts" that don't include the percentage of active properties. Almost every day, another brand of product comes across our desks. Our guidelines are "TRIED, TESTED AND TRUE."
